The Science Learning Hub is a national project designed to support the effective teaching of science in New Zealand schools. It is funded by the New Zealand government through the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and managed by the University of Waikato .
The Science Learning Hub provides resources for teachers of students up to year 10.
Our teaching resources explore the latest research in science and technology in New Zealand and are closely linked to the science curriculum.
The aims of the Hub are:
- to provide a link between science research organisations and science teachers
- to promote student interest and engagement in science
- to provide contemporary, contextualised resources for teachers
- to demonstrate the relevance of science research to our everyday lives.
The Science Learning Hub is developed by educators and teachers in collaboration with New Zealand scientists.
